Our story

About Our ChurchA church that started over — twice

Iglesia Maná Para Las Naciones was born during the pandemic, lost its building twice, and is standing again in the heart of Hazleton, Pennsylvania. This is the story, without decoration.

2020 — today

From the pandemic to now

We are Iglesia Maná Para Las Naciones, a Christian ministry founded in Hazleton, Pennsylvania, in the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic. We started when everything was closed, when Hispanic families in this city were losing their jobs and did not know how to fill the refrigerator.

From day one we were two things at once: a spiritual refuge and a physical one. In the hardest months we handed out food to hundreds of families every week, and we never asked whether they were members, what church they came from, or whether they believed what we believe.

The road has not been easy. We lost our building in 2022, and again in 2024. Twice we packed up, loaded the chairs and started from nothing. Twice we thought it was over. And twice God proved faithful.

Today we are a community of about one hundred people — steady, united and clear about our purpose — in our own space at 235 East Broad Street. We keep growing for one simple reason: what comes in goes back out to the community. We feed people with the Word of God and with real food, in abundance.

What we believe

House of God and Gate of Heaven

Our name and our founding verse come from the same place: «How awesome is this place! This is none other than the house of God, and this is the gate of heaven» (Genesis 28:17).

We are a Hispanic evangelical Christian church. We believe the Bible is the Word of God, in salvation by grace through faith in Jesus Christ, in the power of the Holy Spirit, in water baptism by immersion, and in a faith that proves itself by feeding the hungry.

And we believe one more thing, a very practical one: a church that does not serve its city is not being a church. That is why we hand out groceries every other week, pick people up in our van when they have no way to come, and keep the doors open to anyone who wants to walk in.

What drives us

Our values

01

Open doors

Nobody is asked for a spiritual résumé. Come as you are, with whatever you are carrying.

02

The Word, undiluted

Sound, clear biblical teaching that applies to the real life of a Hispanic family in Pennsylvania.

03

Hands that serve

Food, transportation, clothing and company. Faith you cannot touch is faith you cannot see.

04

A real family

One hundred people who know each other by name and hold each other up.

The heart of our service

Our team

Behind every open door and every outreach there are servants who give their time and their gifts week after week.
